Abstract
The Italian Antitrust Authority has launched an offensive against radiotaxi cooperatives that adopt rules and behaviors aimed at deterring their members from adhering to the new digital call sorting platforms. The IAA thus condemned the vertical agreements between taxi drivers’ cooperatives in the markets of Rome and Milan and initiated proceedings for abuse of a dominant position and cartelization in other territorial contexts. annulled the decisions on vertical agreements. The paper takes cue from the aforementioned proceedings, in order to make observations on the conflict between the cooperatives and Mytaxi and on the protection of competition between platforms and that between taxi drivers, in the light of antitrust law as well as of the regulation of cooperatives and that providing in the field of local public transport of people by taxi.
