Abstract

The recent spread of information technology and communications has introduced profound changes in the way young people communicate. Many are the registers used by young people, among them: the formal employed at the university and at work, and the informal used with their peers in familiar contexts. The way in which young people communicate, changes from generation to generation and is influenced by several factors: media, newspapers and the world around them.Often the youth language is characterized by the presence of new terms and forms, that sometimes it looks like a code that you have to interpret and decode.Nowadays Internet has undoubtedly changed our lives and the way we communicate with anyone in real time. The purpose of this paper is to analyse the Spanish language on the web, in other words the new youth language generated by the use of Internet. In particular it will be analysed the CIBERESPAÑOL's characteristics, an heterogeneous linguistic variety, extremely creative characterized by the absence of rules and rich in abbreviations.
