Abstract
In the summer of 1535Carlo V returned to Sicily after his Tunbisian Exploit. During the journey between TRapani and Palermo, the Emperor and his retinue staied for a few days in the town of Alcamo. Little his Known about the monarch's triuphal entrance and his short stay in Town , but the importance of the event and the long terme effects in the urban fabric are evident. The visit sparked the eventual creation of a "strada imperiale" and a Loggia in the all'antica Style- beginning in 1548-49-
