Abstract

In micro-grids, due to their small scale, there iscommonly only one power supplier. A competitive wholesalemarket hardly exists so the question about how to considermarket issues for small producers within micro-grids arises. Onthe other hand, the specific features of micro-grids where loadand generated power hardly find a balance, require thatcustomers take part to regulation issues, maybe using demandresponse programs. In this paper, price responsive policies andits programs are discussed to answer this question. A case studyof a micro-grid with one microturbine and two photovoltaicgenerators in Italy is analyzed to assess the overall productioncost in order to build a price responsive program in differentcases while changing the grid’s characteristics.
