Abstract

Crop production in greenhouses needs the use of chemicals and requires high levels of temperatureand moisture content in order to ensure high levels of crop production. This can cause risks tothe health of the operators, especially if they are not equipped with protection devices.To measure the levels of VOC (Volatile Organic Compounds), toxic gases, moisture contentand ambient temperature and to process the measured data, an electronic system, equippedwith a data logger and a photo ionisation sensor, was used.The results of these measurements gave useful indications about the health risks for the operators.
