The renewal of expressive themes from the Arab culture, since the 19th century, is to be linked to the Revival phenomenon, which assumes a particular connotation in those regions of the Mediterranean which have kept traces of the historical and artistic presence of Islam. In Palermo, this falls within the frame of the revaluation of History Studies, where the reasons are to be searched, along with references and the foundational language models. Starting from the one that can be considered as the first neo-Moorish experience - Palazzo Forcella (1840 c.) - and from other remarkable achievements, this essay offers an interpretation of the architectonical phenomenon as well as a reading of their spatial and decorative qualities, in function of the poetic intents and the evocative potentialities of the places.
