Abstract

The Morgantina silver Treasurebelonging to the collections of the ArchaeologicalMuseum of Aidone (Sicily) were involved in a 3Dsurvey and diagnostics campaign for monitoringover time of the finds, in anticipation of theirtemporary transfer to the Metropolitan Museum ofArt in New York, for a period of four years.According to a multidisciplinary approach, it hasbeen developed a scientific and methodologicalprotocol based on non-invasive techniques toachieve a complete and integrated knowledge of theprecious items, of their conservation state andincreasing their valorisation. All acquired data, i.e.3D models, UV fluorescence and X-Ray images andchemical information, will be made available, in aintegrated way, within a web oriented platform,that will represent a in progress tool to deepen theexisting archaeological knowledge and technologiesof production and to obtain referenced informationof the state of preservation, before and after movingof the finds from their exposure site.
