Engineer and Architect, Mazzoni is famous for his numerous projects and completed works, mainly comprisingpublic buildings, train stations and post offices. In 1919 he obtained a degree in engineering at the Scuola di Applicazione per Ingegneri, where he studied under G. Giovannoni, G.B. Milani, and V. Fasolo. Subsequently heattended Bologna’s Accademia di Belle Arti, where he obtained a degree in architecture in 1923 As most of his work presents a wide useof experimentation and different styles, it is hard to find a common denominator. Moreover, during his training he wasalso influenced by the monumental and traditional styles typical of Piacentini, whose studio Mazzoni frequented for more than one year starting from 1920.Angiolo Mazzoni worked for most of his professional career, and on a more steady basis from 1925‑1926 onwards, as a chief engineer for the Ministry of Communications.
