the contribution identifies and analyzes the success and operational fallout in Sicilian architecture of the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, of models for altars disseminated through the press. The theme of the altars indeed presents punctual connections with the world of model prints. As in other cases, these engravings were not only aimed at architects but were also intended for a wider world of operators, especially wood sculptors. Between the end of the seventeenth century and the first half of the eighteenth century, the project area in question knowsmutations starting from new texts.
