Abstract

The essay deals with the theme of subversive laws of 1866-67 and their impact on the Italian artistic heritage. The research used many unpublished archival documents which made it possible to clarify some moments of the protection and museum display of works of art in Sicily, and many cases of dispersion of the rich ecclesiastical heritage.
