Abstract

[automatically translated] In the memory are the results of the surveys conducted using the size distributions of the raindrops (DSD) detected by an installed optical disdrometer, in the period June 2006 - March 2014, at the Department of Agriculture and Forestry, University of Palermo and in the period July 2015-January 2016 at the experimental station of El Teularet in Spain. After aggregating the DSD for different intensity classes in width, it was determined the kinetic power associating to each diameter of the aggregate DSD its falling speed calculated by means of a retrieved report in the literature. The kinetic power values thus determined were used to test the applicability of the kinetic-intensity power relationships of the precipitation proposals from Wischmeier and Smith (1978) and by Brown and Foster (1987). The kinetic power measurements, demonstrate the existence of a value of precipitation intensity threshold beyond which the volumetric median diameter and, consequently, the kinetic power, can be assumed constant. These results represent an approach verification of Wischmeier and Smith (1978).
