Political socialization as a dynamic and permanent process, latent and manifest, interactive and multidirectional. Political identity as part of social identity, the construction and re-invention of politics. The political socialization that from the idea of mere transmission is transformed, in the most recent theories, in construction of symbolic code and representations of the world, a factor of transaction within multiple groups. The empirical dimension in the text is intertwined with the theoretical one by presenting some case studies made in Palermo. The volume can represent both a useful teaching tool for students of sociological and political areas, as well as a contribution for researchers who wish to have a brief overview of the topic and some ideas for future investigations.
