Abstract
This paper proposes an optimised EnergyManagement System for a multi-carrier hub, which integratestwo energy distribution networks, for hydrogen and electricity. The economic sustainability of a real-life instantiation of such asystem has been analysed as well. The Energy ManagementSystem has been developed by means of a multi-objectiveoptimisation algorithm, the Non-dominated Sorting GeneticAlgorithm II, implemented using MATLAB®. The achievedresults consist in a series of set-points defining the workingconditions of the plant for a chosen time horizon. Data providedby this process also show the effectiveness of the adoptedoptimisation approach. The financial analysis is performedtaking into account costs and revenues of a real demonstrationplant. These cash flows have been evaluated by means of NetPresent Value index. The proposed analysis shows a possiblesolution that is profitable for stakeholders and guarantees a shortPay Back Time
