Ripensare lo sviluppo economico- il valore della marginalità in un mondo di incertezza, 1° edizione

Research output: Book/ReportBook

In periods marked by health pandemics and economic crises, uncertainty makes people anxious and influences behavior. But can it become a valid mental approach? A useful modus operandi in phases of transition, when the logic and analysis built in decades of capitalism and which have caused growing inequalities to fail? The volume deals with the issues of health care, the technological revolution, and the development of the regions with examples drawn from the Italian and international reality, thus offering a look at some sustainable dimensions of individual and collective well-being. The first chapter analyzes the principle of care in emergency situations such as the Covid-19, in which doctors for the first time in Italy has hierarchized patients with shorter life expectancy: the elderly. Web technologies are the basis of the second case study, dedicated to Walmart's new operating strategy with respect to competitors such as Amazon and Alibaba, companies born digital and which reflect and influence the changing preferences of consumers. Finally, organic consumption and production are examined in the international arena, with a particular look at Sicily, where a new vision of environmental sustainability is emerging as a natural ecosystem
