[automatically translated] The study of theoretical models which well represent, in their articulation, driving maneuvers in the street has always been an exercise much practiced as a whole. The difficulty to fully delineate these maneuvers, to define the kinematic interaction of the vehicles involved is evidenced by the variety of models available in the literature. With this work we intend to reach the formulation of an original model of the visibility distance calculation for overtaking on two-way roads to single carriageway, which takes due account of the accumulation of kinematic, mechanical variables, geometric, environmental and traffic , as well as of human behavior, that synergistically combine to determine the maneuvering phenomenology. This objective is profiled by noting what and how many are in the international arena, the existing regulatory models, and even those of the most recent and innovative concept. The multiform range of models inevitably leads to values of visibility distance for overtaking which vary considerably, sometimes in a surprising way, depending if they consider that one rather than another. This is conceptually implausible, in the light of the almost global homogenization, on an international scale, the physical and mechanical quantities involved and imposes an extra effort of analysis of the operation and its kinematics.
