Abstract
The article compares "Meine freie deutsche Jugend", 2003, of Claudia Rusch and "Lagerfeuer", 2003 of Julia Franck. These two texts are partly autobiographical and tell about the life of many young people in East Germany (DDR).The two authors write of traumatic experiences related to the political situation in the DDR which are still alive even today in united Germany in the memory of many Germans.
