Abstract

[automatically translated] Purpose - The Outcome Questionnaire (OQ-45.2; Lambert et al., 2004) is a tool that important measure of psychological functioning areas (symptoms, interpersonal problems, social functioning in the role) of central interest for the evaluation of psychotherapeutic outcomes. In this study we examined the cross-cultural validity dell'OQ-45.2 in the Italian population, comparing the psychometric properties, the equivalence of the factor structure and normative scores of the Italian version against the original US. Method - The data were collected in Bologna and Palermo University (N = 461), three mental health public facilities (N = 301) and an organization Leisure (N = 61). The clinical group of subjects was assessed before embarking on a psychotherapeutic treatment. Results - The instrument maintains the good psychometric properties of the original version. The CFA results are in support of the multidimensional construct of the instrument. The normative scores are different between the Italian and US samples, with different cut-off points to calculate the clinically significant change with Italian subjects. Conclusions - The dell'OQ 45.2-Italian version seems a promising tool as a measure of psychological distress and could be validly used as a measure of the outcomes of psychotherapeutic treatments in clinical settings.
