Abstract

[automatically translated] The research aims to explore, in Italian children and preteens, the European identity paths in relation to similar forms of social identity (national, regional and local). For this purpose they were interviewed 252 participants (aged between 6 and 12 years) using a procedure that allows you to detect - in relation to each of the studied forms of identity - mode of self-categorization, relative importance and degree of identification. The data show that European identity becomes relevant 12 years, the Regional 9, while the national and local identities are since 6 years. The results are discussed in a socio-evolutionary perspective, examining the implications in terms of educational interventions
