The book invites readers to carry out a type of education research in the school looking at teachers as active experimenters in the classroom. There are some forms of collaboration between schools and universities that have innovated educational practices, even if in a circumstantial way. The reference to recent Italian research in the field of education and to some scholars who have promoted this research, is functional to the identification of the field, objects, method and canons of Didactics as a science of the teaching-learning process. It is shown how, in research at school, classical experimentation can be integrated with action research , quantitative methods with qualitative ones.
