The essay analyses the recent evolution of collective bargaining in Southern Europe in thelight of the trinomial decentralisation-europeanisation-americanisation: despite the structuraldivergences, the systems analysed have strengthened the prerogatives of company agreementsin their relationships with the sectoral ones and the law and decentralised the mechanismsof workers’ representation. Such a trajectory, largely influenced by the European governanceas an antidote to the crisis, brings to a functional convergence of Southern Europetowards the US model, where company agreements prevail.
