Abstract
While the ominous shadows of the Decade of Lead loom large, the anxieties of Leonardo Sciascia and Anna Maria Ortese are amplified. From their respective beginnings, they were different interpreters of a writing profession based on cognitive tension, devoted to the unveiling of all mystification, and precisely for this reason in growing collision with the prevailing system. In this sense, the consonance established in the exchange of letters between the two authors, begun in 1978, but matured through a long silent dialogue of which this essay retraces some key points, acquires a more significant depth.
