The aim of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of the laparoscopiccholecystectomy performed in two uremic patients with gallstones.From January to July 2004, 15 patients with gallstones underwent tolaparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). Two patients had chronic renal failure onhaemodyalisis: a symptomatic fourty-two old woman, which had primitivehyperparathyroidism and primitive hyperaldosteronism, and asymptomatictransplant candidate fifty-five old man. No minor and major complicationsoccurred and both patients were discharged 4 days after LC.Even in uremic patients the L.C. must be the gold standard for thetreatment of gallstones both symptomatic and asymptomatic.
