Abstract

The paper focuses on the activity of Joseph Sterzinger in Bavaria and on the analysis of his works of demonology appeared in 1767. A work developed by an Enlightenment belonging to the religious order of the Clerics Regular, which moved in the wake of the mutation in southern Germany of the Trentino diabolical controversy, triggered in 1749 by Girolamo Tartarotti, and which contributed to the demolition of the belief in witches and the witchcraft sabbath.
