[automatically translated] It is with increasing frequency in the speeches of scholars from many different orientations, media politicians and industry representatives, various commentators and communicators, recur more or less explicit references to the advent of-the "network society", or " information and communication "or" knowledge ". These are speeches that often take on the visionary tone of a techno-utopianism that, stripping the technological innovation of its historical dimension, the abstractly identifies with the social progress and modernization, glissando on the pressures, the plots, the junctures, the uses and specific interests that they have actually led to certain in-innovations rather than others. Even the educational field, for deputy definition to provide critical knowledge and skills, seems to have adopted this comes tecnoutopista. In this chapter we want to support that education - reconfigured according to mediaeducativa perspective, pluricontestuale and lifelong learning - must be open to technological innovation but not so much in sight of a mere technical-instrumental adaptation of the subjects, as, more radically, in the sense of a full awareness of the historical and cultural dimensions of innovation itself, as well as its potential in terms of participation in the construction of social capital. To this end, we conducted an excursus on theories of social capital, in the hypothesis that, in order to define the mechanisms and processes that contribute to its production, it is necessary to look to the relational dimension, in addition to more traditional notions of trust and reciprocity, starting from the relationship with the production of human and cultural capital, traditionally assigned to education. From these theoretical considerations, it is suggested to verify empirically, as part of the multi-agent computer assisted simulation created by the research team, if the increase in the propensity to change agents,
