Abstract

[automatically translated] Inside the SCI, "Cliffs of Catalfano and Capo Zafferano", some of the caves were frequented by humans since prehistoric times. By comparing the genesis of cavities and their topographical location, it is clear that the choice of sites to be used by man consonant is markedly strategic and thoughtful. The survey was conducted first by identifying and reaching the known sites in the bibliography, from which we have tried to develop a model to identify new sites that could present evidence of human presence dating back to prehistoric times, especially recently. Inside a cave, Zubbio Cozzo San Pietro, located at an altitude of 300 m above sea level on the east slope of Cozzo San Pietro, at a depth of 15 m, was found and photographed a deposit containing human remains, bones, teeth , some fragments of stone tools, including a splinter of obsidian, and numerous pottery fragments, some dating from the Middle Bronze Age, facies Thapsos. In short, the site will be made an excavation essay. Based on the above observations, they were considered all the elements known on the human population of the investigated area, with a targeted approach to understanding the dynamics of the environment of use according to the economies of the past.
