The first volume of the Twentieth Century Italian Architects series presents a reflection by architects and scholars of different generations on the architecture of the late twentieth century, increasingly the object, in particular in recent years, of complex interventions for adaptation, maintenance and redevelopment functional, which often risk compromising the integrity of the work by altering its expressive form, original language and perception. The essay starts from the research experience undertaken during ten years of study, as part of the PhD in Architectural Design of Palermo on the theme of "The Restoration of Modern", and highlights the latest research on recovery of the "Tifeo" Power Station in Augusta, designed by Giuseppe Samonà.
