Abstract
The book explores the complex construction history of one of the main Sicilian late baroque buildings, the palace of the Celestri family, Marquis of Santa Croce, in Palermo. What is returned is a dense and articulated fresco of the Sicilian capital, from the Sixteenth century to the last quarter of the Eighteenth: illustrious clients, famous architects and forgotten masters, all engaged in a series of construction sites that would lead, through complex and troubled events, to the realization of one of the largest aristocratic residences on the island.
