Il design nelle produzioni in pietra lavica dell’Etna : processi naturali, artificiali, culturali

Research output: Contribution to journalArticlepeer-review

The text investigates the design of elements and objects in lava stone, which reveal the character of "preciousness" of a material characterized by a strong territorial identity and versatility in use. In particular, the communicative and evocative skills of some lava productions will be explored compared to the "cultural landscape" of Mount Etna, designated by UNESCO as "one of the most active iconic volcanoes in the world and an extraordinary example of continuous geological processes". The analysis will focus on some experiments that, while expressing different facets of design in terms of production and use, share the careful consideration of the original processes of material formation, revealing and enhancing its most intrinsic qualities.
