Abstract
This paper is dedicated to the notion of boundary as an educational resource in the planetary age, through the perspective of a new humanism that Father Ernesto Balducci proposed in the late twentieth century. In the current historical moment, the boundaries are ephemeral and changeable by negative globalization and create uncertainty, insecurity, fear, denying the value of the otherness. Balducci accuses the West to deny the other and hopes for a dialogic culture that transforms the border in a dynamic and flexible frontier, a place of welcome and care for the others. The protagonist of this prophecy is the planetary man who, through an education toward non-violence and universal citizenship, traces the new agape path within the boundary. The planetary man has the task of building a cosmic democracy through the mutual recognition of the differences no longer relegated to the boundary.
