Abstract

[automatically translated] The behavior of clay compacted subjected to cycles of wetting and drying is analyzed through the execution of tests in oedometric sucking controlled. The specimens are subject to different cyclic series of suction of variation preceded by different load paths and discharge at constant suction, in order to study the effects of the route of the stresses on the deformation and displacement on the variations of water content induced by cyclic variations of sucking. The test results were simulated with satisfactory success through an elastoplastic constitutive model for unsaturated soils, where the global mechanical response is dependent on the deformation of the microstructure, the macro-structure and their mutual interactions.
