In view of the transformation potential that the architecture of the post-war possesses as an intrinsic feature, the transformation of Leinefelde is highlighted for its typological and urban implications, but also for those indirect social and political type: crystallize the transition from the residence as " social good "in the former GDR to" individual good "in the new reunified Germany. Through a very radical concept of timely removal, by a linear collective building of 118 m in length with 150 apartments it is obtained 8 urban villas with about 8 apartments each. author's interpretative drawings describe this architectural transformation, also dictated by a paradigm shift of the political conditions and the wishes of the inhabitants remained to live in the former DDR.
