Abstract

Magnetic resonance imaging (RM) today represents a methodnon-invasive and accurate imaging to determine levelsof iron in various tissues, even at the myocardial level, and it comesused as a monitoring and management method forthalassemic patients, so that they can recognize earlythose alterations that will then lead to the appearanceof heart failure, or the so-called "cardiomyopathyfrom accumulation of iron".
