Architettura cultuale nel Mediterraneo

Research output: Book/ReportOther report

The book is the result of a research developed at the Department of Architecture of the University of Palermo in the wake of the long teaching experience and research conducted under the guidance of prof. Pasquale Culotta. In this research, the theme of liturgical confronts influences and contaminations found between cultual architectures in the Mediterranean. The book is divided into three parts: the first part, through significant design examples, traces some of the main issues that have emerged in these post-conciliar years with respect to the construction of new churches or liturgical adaptation of existing ones; The second part examines the ability of archaic forms and archetypal sacred space to leave traces of their existence in the cyclic creation of a new order; The third part, finally, deals with a reflection on the founding principles that inform the architecture of worship and their permanence.
