Abstract

Lately the interest towards open-air spaces, and mainly public ones, hasdrawn new attention thanks to thewidespread phenomenon of a lighttransformation outside of the usualindoors container spaces. The park can be seen as a place forexperimenting; it is possible to operatein the landscape and in the territory, and thus in the Park of Madonie, in asensitive way: rather than building in avolumetric and traditional way, the useof light and of specific installationsmodify the way we perceive anartifact, the way we walk through it,the way we use it more than theindividual artifact itself.Four case studies are taken intoconsideration: they are different butshare a common base ingredient:Art/Architecture. Fiumara d’Arte, new Gibellina, the Park of Celle andthe Park of Sculpture in Architecture:a punctuation in a diversified territory,a new town, an open-air museuminside an historical garden, an-open airmuseum in a suburban area.
